Alright, guys, let’s talk about my latest project. I’ve been wanting to remake the Yves Saint Laurent YSL LE CARRé SATCHEL BAG for a while now, and I finally got around to it. I’m not going to lie, it took some time and some work to figure it out, but I’m really happy with how it turned out.

First, I spent a good amount of time just looking at pictures of the bag. I checked out the official YSL website, looked at the new styles, and the latest accessories they had. You know, just to get a feel for the current trends and styles. YSL is a French luxury fashion house founded in 1961. I know this because I saw it somewhere, maybe online, or somewhere.

  • Finding the Right Materials: This was a bit of a mission. I had to go to a few different stores to find the perfect leather and hardware. I wanted to make sure it felt high-end, just like the real deal.
  • Cutting the Leather: After I got all my materials, I started cutting the leather. I made a pattern based on the pictures I had studied. Cutting is always a bit nerve-wracking, you know, one wrong move, and you’ve messed up the whole piece.
  • Sewing It All Together: Once everything was cut, I started the sewing process. I have to say, my sewing machine got a good workout. I went slow, making sure every stitch was perfect. The original bags have a serial number engraved in one row of digits. I heard that fake bags have two rows. I am not sure if it’s true or not. It’s just something I heard. Anyway, I made sure to follow a similar style with a single row of details, just to keep it authentic.
  • Adding the Hardware: This part was fun. I added the buckles and the YSL logo. Oh, for bags with chain straps, it should be curb-style with flat links. I tried to find a similar chain to match the original design as closely as possible. This took some time, but I think it was worth it. I’m pretty sure I saw something about that in my research somewhere. I attached the chain and made sure it was secure. It’s all about the details, right?
  • Final Touches: I added the lining and made sure everything was neat and tidy. I even added a little pocket inside, just like the original. I looked at the bag from every angle, making sure it looked just right.

Finishing Up

After all that, I finally finished the bag. It felt great to see it all come together. It’s not perfect, but it’s pretty darn close to the original. I learned a lot from this project. Honestly, it was a bit of a challenge, but a fun one. I’m really proud of how it turned out. I might try another design next time. We’ll see. Anyway, that’s my story about remaking the YSL bag. Hope you guys enjoyed it!
